Thai way to success & happiness

Step 2: Read the prayer off your prayer card while you hold your bucket of fish.

Step 3:  Free the fish into the river.

Floating Market @ Samutsongkram (1hr S-E of Bangkok)

This weekend my friend from office K Fon took me to the nearest large floating market near to Bangkok. We stayed at a resort just opened by a lovely welcoming thai family. The main activity was taking a boat over the clongs (canals) and eating noodles from the boatsellers and walking around to see all the market goodies: handicrafts, pursoses, bracelets, paintings, poems,...

It is located a few clongs away so that the trip through the clongs to the market is just as intruiging as the market itself.

Bangkok-Abu Dhabi-Brussels

Tom is now back in Brussels after having spent a few days in the UAE on the way back (photos: Sheikh Al Zayed Mosque, Burj al Arab hotel and Burj Dubai under construction)

Sunset over Bangkok

After the sun has set over Bangkok and unless work calls, we can make preparations for the evening. Bangkok offers many fine venues for a night out, including a few impressive rooftop bars. Not the cheapest places around, but worth a visit for an occasion!

1 mei is hier ook vakantiedag en 5 mei ook (Royal Coronation Day), dus vele mensen nemen ook een lang weekend. We zitten nu in Samui, een eiland ten oosten van Thailand (in de Golf van Thailand).

Our flat & Tom in Bangkok

Dear friends, here a picture of our apartment in Bangkok, which is situated in the Sathorn business district of the Thai capital (see view). As you can see, the apartment is still a bit empty, but we are working on it (see previous post...).

Tom is now also in Bangkok, and in fact we are in Koh Samui (island) now for a weekend break! Pictures to follow...
