On 24 February, Wolfgang turned one. We had a small celebration at home with a "Winnie the Pooh Baby Cake"! To our surprise, Wolfgang had a piece of cake and seemed to enjoy it, as he covered his face with it and was smelling of butter after that. Nirmala and Tom also went on a weekend near Chiang Rai (Golden Triangle, i.e. the border area where Thailand, Burma and Laos meet) recently to celebrate Tom's birthday earlier in February, leaving Wolfgang in the good care of Raquel. One of the attractions of the hotel was the elephant sanctuary, where elephants are looked after by their mahouts (trainers) instead of working in busy cities. An elephant walk is possible and we enjoyed one of the last cool weekends of the year to do just that!
Now that Wolf is 1 year old, he also started going to a nursery here in Bangkok (they only accept children of 1 and older). So far, he seems to be enjoying it!
