Not much news to mention except that Tom has now started his new job with Agoda. The offices are in Central World, an enormous shopping complex + office building + hotel + convention center. You can fit the average European shopping mall in there a few times.
For those interested in the Thai culture and traditions, it is interesting to know that in Thailand, every day has a different color. Each day is also associated with a planet and deity. Here is a short overview of the different days and their respective color, planet and god:
Monday - color: yellow, planet: Moon, god: Chandra
Tuesday - pink, Mars, Mangala
Wednesday - green, Mercury, Budha
Thursday - orange, Jupiter, Brihaspati
Friday - blue, Venus, Shukra
Saturday - purple, Saturn, Shani
Sunday - red, Sun, Surya
The current King (Bhumibol, known as Rama IX in short) was born on a Monday, so his color is yellow. The royal flag, which can be seen all over Thailand, is yellow with a royal seal in the middle. The Queen (Sirikit) was born on a Friday, so her color and flag are blue. A lot of Thais (and some "farangs" - foreigners as well) will wear yellow clothing on Mondays, out of respect for the King. On Tuesday, you will see a lot of pink clothing (but less than the yellow on Monday). For some reason, the other color are less popular in the outfits.
